Job Description: Principal IC Designer

Reporting to the Vice-President for ASIC Development, the successful candidate will be a key contributor to the design of Menara's proprietary physical layer transceiver (PHY) and media dependent (PMD) integrated circuits. The qualifications we are looking for include:

MSEE or Ph D degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university

10+ years of industrial experience in the design of mixed-signal integrated circuits

minimum of 3 years of IC design specifically for optical communications and/or high-speed data conversion

design experience at GHz frequencies, with a strong preference for 10 GHz and above

experienced in the design of SONET or Ethernet compliant phase-locked loops and clock recovery circuits

experience in Gsample/s ADC and high-speed track-and-hold circuit design

working knowledge of signal processing, fiber optics and communications theory highly desirable

extensive design experience in state-of-the-art CMOS and SiGe BiCMOS processes

fluent user of industry standard schematic capture, layout, mixed-mode simulation, verification and parasitic extraction tools

proven track record of developing successful IC?s from concept to mass production as demonstrated by specific part numbers and data sheets

capable of creating original design solutions for novel application requirements as proven by patents and/or papers

good interpersonal and communication skills as well as capable and willing to mentor junior engineers

ability to work independently with minimal supervision on assignments, including full-chip responsibility
